Nike Big Nike Hi Brown/Plaid

The Nike Big Nike Hi certainly celebrates a comeback this year, with numerous colorways already having released and more to come later this year. Scheduled for November 2009 is this new brown/plaid version of the Big Nike Hi.

“The toe cap is full grain brown leather which runs up the lacing holes. The mid panel of the upper is brown textured nubuck, while the heel is made of smooth black suede. he big Nike logo on the back heel is red with a yellow outline. These retros feature a black midsole with yellow stitching and a brown outsole. The ankle collar is red, matching the textured patent leather swoosh. Most importantly, near the ankle collar is the plaid pattern, making this a true lifestyle colorway.” ViaFootlockerunlocked.

Quiksilver x Takashi Kumagai Spring/Summer 2009 Capsule Collection

Quiksilver has for the first time invited a creator to produce a collaborative capsule collection. They chose influential Japanese designer Takashi Kumagai, who is best known for his work for Porter. For Quiksilver the designer put together an interesting collection, which is both modern and colorful, but also references classic American workwear. The line is inspired by the 70s, 80s and of course surfwear. Colorful M-65 jackets, woven shirts, shorts and denim workwear pieces come together in this collaborative capsule collection. We like a lot the colorful pieces and the workwear pieces, but are less impressed with the shirts of the collection. Also the mix of different styles seems a little strange, at least to us.

Nike SB Stefan Jonoski | New Colorways

Yesterday a special launch event took place in Los Angeles, to celebrate the release of the new Nike SB Stefan Janoski sneaker. Earlier today we already showed you a new white colorway of the shoe, which will be released on May 8th in black and brown.

At the launch event, Nike SB was showcasing many more new color-ups of the sneaker, including beige/brown options, all black, black croc and pony hair options of the shoe, all looking very solid. The sneaker clearly bridges skateboarding and lifestyle, probably more than any other shoe in the Nike SB range.
